5th International Workshop on XML Integration and Transformation for Business Process Management
Context
XML technologies and web services are gaining increasing attention in the business process management community. Several XML-based standards have emerged that support different aspects of intra- and interorganizational integration such as composition and choreography. In this workshop, we aim to investigate new technologies and approaches including semantic web, service computing, Web 2.0, and model-driven development in their relationship to business process management. Papers on ongoing and completed research, state of the art surveys, and reports on practical application, and empirical findings are welcome. The workshop aims to identify current research directions as well as industry trends.
Topics
- BPM and web services,
- BPM ontologies and the semantic web,
- BPM metamodels and standards,
- Workflow technology,
- Web service composition and choreography,
- BPM and Web 2.0,
- BPM and service computing,
- Model-driven development of process-aware information systesm,
- Integration of BPM applications,
- Security issues of web-based processes,
- Inter-organizational document exchange (e.g. XML-EDI, xCBL, etc.).
Submissions
- Long papers: max. 12 pages
- Work-in-progress reports: max. 6 pages
- Demo papers: max. 4 pages
Submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of significance, originality and technical quality. Authors are requested to prepare submissions as close as possible to final camera-ready versions following the LNCS/LNBIP format specified by Springer-Verlag (http://www.springer.com/east/home/computer/lncs?SGWID=5-164-7-487211-0). Papers should clearly establish the research contribution and the relation to previous research. The submission should clearly emphasize the discussion aspects relevant to the workshop. Members of an international and solid program committee will review all submissions. Each paper will be reviewed by 3 PC members guaranteeing that only papers presenting high quality and innovative research and practice issues in areas relevant to the workshop theme will be accepted.
Submission system is available at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=xml4bpm2009.
Papers approved for presentation at XML4BPM 2009 will be published in BIS 2009 workshop proceedings, as a volume in Springer's Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series.
