DS2 2009, the 4th International Workshop on Data Storage Devices and Systems, will be held at the Kyung Hee University, Yongin (Korea), 29 June-2 July 2008. This annual workshop provides a forum in which to present research results in all areas related to the design, development, and evaluation of storage devices and systems. DS2 2008 builds on the success of previous workshops in this series held in Perugia, Italy (June 2008), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (August 2007), and in Glasgow, Scotland (May 2006).

Scope:

Original research contributions are solicited covering a variety of topics including but not limited to:

    * Non-volatile memory storage devices and systems
    * Empirical evaluation of storage systems
    * Experience with deployed systems
    * Mobile and personal storage
    * Distributed I/O (wide-area, grid, peer-to-peer)
    * Parallel I/O
    * Low-power design
    * Security and privacy
    * Storage networking
    * Virtualization
    * Novel applications

Important Dates:

Papers submission: Jan 15, 2009

Notification of acceptance: March 24, 2009

Camera ready papers and pre-registration: April 12, 2009

Submission:

All accepted papers, between 5 and 11 pages long, will be published by IEEE Computer Society.
The templates and the author's instructions for IEEE Computer Society (please select the two column layout) are available at the URL: http://www.computer.org/portal/site/cscps/menuitem.02df7cde46985ea21618fc2e6bcd45f3/index.jsp?&pName=cscps_level1&path=cscps/cps&file=cps_forms.xml&xsl=generic.xsl&

To submit a paper, please refer to instructions available on the ICCSA 2009 web site. Only papers submitted through the electronic submission and strictly adhering to the relevant format will be considered for reviewing and publication.

The paper must present an original and unpublished work, not submitted for publication elsewhere (copyright problems fall entirely under responsibility of the authors). Each paper will be reviewed by at least three experts in the relevant field (acceptance rate was 28% in 2005, 26% in 2006, 28% in 2007, 29% in 2008) ensuring the acceptance only to top quality contributions.

When a paper is accepted at least one of the authors has to register to the conference and deliver the related talk. Failure to do so shall lead to rejection of the application to attend next year conference and the exclusion of the paper for the current year proceedings.
