Fourth International Workshop on P2P, Parallel, Grid and Internet Computing (3PGIC-2010) February, 15th - 18th 2010 Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Cracow College Krakow, Poland http://www.lsi.upc.edu/~fatos/3PGIC-2010/ To be held in conjunction with: Complex, Intelligent and Software Intensive Systems (CICIS-2010) International Conference http://www.cisis-conference.eu/conf/ Scope P2P, Grid and Internet computing technologies have emerged as new paradigms for solving complex problems by enabling large-scale aggregation and sharing of computational, data and other geographically distributed resources. Rapid advances are being reported by many researchers and forums as regards understanding numerous issues in such paradigms, from theoretic to application aspects. Moreover, the continuous development of Internet and the construction of new P2P and Grid infrastructures are making possible the development of large scale applications from many fields of science and engineering. Despite these advances, Computational Grids and P2P systems remain difficult for many users to bring such systems to real word applications. Indeed, the research topics related to the Grid, Peer-to-Peer and Internet computing are recent and require the investigation of many issues such as effective harnessing of Internet connected resources, development of new methods and techniques, which offer users a transparent, efficient and secured access to resources, efficient allocation of resources, decentralization and self-organization. These issues present nowadays real challenges to the development of large distributed systems and applications. The aim of this workshop is to present innovative researches, methods and techniques related to P2P, Grid and Internet computing. The workshop seeks original contributions in all relevant areas, including but not limited to the following topics. Topics of interest * Parallel and Distributed Algorithms * Grid and P2P Infrastructures for Data Storage and Data Mining * Middleware for Grid and P2P Systems and Applications * Data Intensive and Computing Intensive Applications * Scheduling, Resource Discovery and Allocation * JXTA-based P2P Applications * Large-scale Collaborative Problem Solving Environments * Methodology and Practice of Semantic Grid and Web * Web and Grid Service-based Applications * Virtual Organizations and Enterprise Computing * Economics of P2P, Grid and Internet Computing * Ubiquitous Computing Applications * Overlay Networks for P2P Systems * Trust Integration and Security in Grid and P2P Systems * Grid Scalability, Dependability and Reliability * Reputation Aggregation for P2P Systems Important Dates * Submission Deadline: September 15th, 2009 * Author Notification: November 1st, 2009 * Author Registration: November 15th, 2009 * Proceedings Version: November 15th, 2009 * Workshop Dates: February 15th-18th, 2010 Submission Guidelines Authors are invited to submit research and application papers following the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author Guidelines at one of the following web pages: o http://computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm o or http://www.tinmith.net/tabletop2006/IEEE/Format/instruct.htm The papers should be 6 pages long. They will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. The papers should be submitted electronically via CISIS-2010 website. If there is any problem during submission please contact the Workshop Co-Chairs Leonard Barolli (e-mail: barolli@fit.ac.jp) or Fatos Xhafa (E-mail: fatos@lsi.upc.edu). Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance. Proceedings of the Workshops will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press. Journal Special Issue Based on quality and referee reviews, the best papers selected by 3PGIC-2010 program committee out of papers accepted for presentation at 3PGIC-2010 will be further published in an International Journal (to be announced). In the Third Edition, the Special Issue was published by International Journal of Autonomic Computing, Inderscience Pub.
