Alexander began his career in 2001 as Product Manager for a leading direct marketing company. In 2003 he joined a high-tech company in the laser industry as Head of Software Development. In 2008, Alexander was asked by a software company in the print and media industry to become its Process Manager, shortly afterwards assuming responsibility for the company's entire global information management as its Chief Information Officer.

Alexander Gesinn founded gesinn.it in 2011. Since January 2013 he is Managing Director and Partner at gesinn.it GmbH & Co. KG.

Alexander has extensive national and international experience in software and IT engineering. He has been responsible for various projects with major international companies in a wide range of industries. In his various management positions he has gained a thorough understanding of the complete software lifecycle, from planning to implementation and operations.

Alexander is member of the core development team of Semantic MediaWiki with best connections to the developer community. He has been actively involved in the implementation of (Semantic) MediaWiki extensions and the planning, installation and support of complex MediaWiki installations since 2010.
