Das STI Berlin & CSW PhD Netzwerk richtet sich an Promovierende in Deutschland. Der thematische Schwerpunkt der Promotionsvorhaben sollte im Bereich der Semantic-Web-Technologien liegen wobei auch interdisziplinär verwandte Themen herzlich willkommen sind.

Mit dem jährlichen STI Berlin & CSW PhD Workshop wird eine öffentliche Plattform zum Austausch von Promovierenden mit den o.g. Schwerpunkten geschaffen.

Keynote von Dr. Axel Polleres (DERI Galway)

Wir freuen uns über die Zusage von Dr. Axel Polleres als Keynote-Speaker. Er wird auf dem Workshop einen Vortrag halten mit dem Titel: Using/Extending RIF and SPARQL to navigate Linked Open Data?

Abstract: In this talk we will instroduce two standards - SPARQL and RIF - to formulate rules and queries for creating simple mashups to access and extract Linked Open Data on the Semantic Web. The presenter was/is involved in the shaping of these two standards within the W3C and works on implementations and several extensions of both. Base concepts of the languages and what you can do with them will be introduces by practical examples and - time allowed - accompanied by some demos.
