================================================================ The Second International Workshop on Computational GeoInformatics COMPGEO'09 http://www.gdmc.nl/CompGeo09/ in conjunction with The 2009 International Conference on Computational Science and its Applications (ICCSA 2009) http://www.iccsa.org/ June 29-July 2, 2009 College of Electronics and Information, Kyung Hee University-Global Campus, Yongin (Korea) SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 2nd, 2009 ================================================================ Workshop Description ---------------------- Following the success of the last year's workshop in Perugia, the CompGeo 2009, taking place in Korea, aims at bringing together researchers and developers from different disciplines working with geospatial information. The workshop focuses on computational aspects, management and processing of 2D & 3D spatial data, including temporal aspects and uncertainty. Topics of interest include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: - novel geospatial data processing and management mechanisms - spatiotemporal data modelling and reasoning - 3D modelling and GIS - modelling and analysis of terrains - modelling uncertainty in geospatial information - spatial and spatiotemporal statistics - geospatial and spatiotemporal data mining and outlier detection - use of computational geometry for GIS problems - automated mapping and map generalisation - use of intelligent and dense wireless sensor networks for spatial applications - fine-grained, terrestrial monitoring platforms - geo-visualisation and geo-visual analytics - visualisation of geospatial uncertainty - new applications of GIS such as crisis management, environmental monitoring, oceanography, 3D cadastre, traffic management, etc. Submission ------------ We welcome submission of original and unpublished scientific papers of 10-16 pages (theme paper) formatted in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) Springer style covering all areas related computational geoinformatics. For templates of the paper please consult author instructions from the conference web page (http://www.iccsa.org). Electronic submissions in PS, PDF, or LaTex (please also submit all .eps, .dvi, and .ps files) are preferred but MS Word submissions will also be accepted. Paper submission should be done through the CyberChair electronic submission system, available at http://cyb09.iccsa.org/ During submission you will be asked to submit your abstract to the CyberChair: please don't forget to select CompGeo workshop from the drop-down list of all workshops. Proceedings ------------- Papers accepted to CompGeo'09 will be published in the ICCSA Conference proceedings by Springer-Verlag as the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Important Dates --------------- February 2nd, 2009: Deadline for full paper submission. March 24th, 2009: Notification of Acceptance April 12th, 2009: Camera Ready Papers and Pre-registration.
