Thanks for posting this aceuonnemnnt. I wish to clarify two things: 1) The amendment on the ballot is not properly titled Amendment One . It is actually titled, in the words of the NC House Republican Leader, The Marriage Amendment . It's actual number and title is General Assembly of North Carolina Session Law 2011-409: An Act to Amend the Constitution to Provide that Marriage Between One Man and One Woman is the Only Domestic Legal Union that shall be Valid or Recognized in this State . 2) Speakers from both sides are not listed in the parentheses. The major groups favoring the Marriage Amendment are not even mentioned in this aceuonnemnnt. The League of Women Voters of North Carolina should be contacted for the complete list of both sides being represented at this non-partisan event.
