New York, USA (time and place are subject to change)

Hosted by: The Student Association on Terrorism and Security Analysis (SATSA)

The Student Association on Terrorism and Security Analysis (SATSA), currently housed at Syracuse University, is the first international, interdisciplinary, graduate student association dedicated to the critical analysis of terrorism, counterterrorism policy, and related national and international security issues.

THEME: A World, Insecure

We invite papers and position pieces from all academic disciplines, such as international relations, public administration, anthropology, law, political science, history, sociology, business management, peace studies, economics, geography, and communications.  Each paper will be presented in one of three panels, concerned broadly with 1) Hostile regional actions and the conflicts’ results for global militaries, 2) Contemporary insecurity crises and their foreshadowing for world diplomatic actions, 3) Societal, economic, and/or technological impacts of security concerns and the conclusions drawn from such critical paradigms, and 4) The ongoing search for security.  SATSA and the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs at the Maxwell School will publish selected articles using a peer blind review process and will invite additional papers for presentation at the conference.

Submission Deadline: January 1, 2010 Please direct questions and submissions to satsa@maxwell.syr.edu.   Send only rough drafts or completed papers, no abstracts.
